In this summer writing lab, we will develop and strengthen our ability to read non-fiction texts closely and construct both evidence-based claims (EBC) and evidence-based arguments (EBA).
Through structured analysis of informational and historical texts, we will learn to extract textual evidence, form valid and original claims, and organize reasoning into coherent written arguments. By the end of the course, we will demonstrate proficiency in crafting analytical and argumentative writing that is precise, well-supported, and responsive to complex societal and textual issues.
This lab is created for students aiming for scores over 6.5 (IELTS) / 4.5 (New TOEFL) in writing sections, equivalent to completion of G10 coursework in the most of U.S. High School English curricula.
